Mallory

This past weekend I had the privilege of photographing an old friend's wedding.  It was so good to see Mallory again, and to meet her wonderful new husband, Greg.  I think Mallory is such a classic beauty.  We were in theatre together in high school, and she was always one of the most talented people I'd met.  Mallory and Greg were fun and laid back, and their bridal party had me laughing the whole time.

I'm only posting a couple of Mallory for now, but I'll do a full post soon.  I actually have a lot of things I need to post, but haven't gotten around to it.  It's funny, the slowest time of the year for me as a photographer has turned into one of the busiest times for me as a person.  I'll catch up soon!

Andy & Ashley

I couldn't ask for better friends.  Ash and Andy are our closest friends, and we are so thankful for them.  Most of my favorite memories involve them in some way.  We lived together in college, took lots of road trips and went to great concerts, shared our weddings together, and stayed up countless nights playing apples to apples or spades in our first cozy little Tennessee homes.  We've gone on great hiking trips and drank countless cups of coffee together.  Ash and I have seen each other at our best and at our worst, and probably tell each other everything.  We ran a marathon together and crossed the finish line together.  We've grown in a lot of the same ways, in life and in our marriages, even being states apart for the past three years.

One of my favorite memories happened the night that Andy graduated from college.  We got out of a movie at midnight and decided it would be fun to drive to the beach (13 hours away).  The four of us and our favorite South African friend Ben piled into Ash and Andy's little Jetta and drove all night to spend one day in sunny Florida.  Boo had to be back the next day for work, and the drive back was miserable.  But our short lived trip was one of my favorites of all time.  We always laugh together.  I really couldn't ask for better friends.

Here are a few photos from our day in Nashville.  I have a lot of favorites, so I just had to choose a handful of random ones to post...

One of my new year's resolutions is to stop treating photography like just a hobby, and start treating it like the business I want it to be.  I'm about to really kick into gear and I'm excited about the possibilities for this year.  I'll write more about some of my exciting plans in another post.

With that being said, today I've been mostly sitting around...but not unproductively.  I've been editing photos, of course, but also doing a lot of planning and reading and organizing.  My afternoon is complete with some Edith Piaf tunes and a cup of my amazing new coffee.  And amongst all of the stress of re-organizing a home-based business, I ran across a photo of my favorite person in the world.

This photo made me smile so hard I was laughing.  That's what this goofy guy does for me.  He makes me laugh every time I need a laugh, and a lot of times when I don't want a laugh.  He is my soulmate, my nefesh teomah.  He knows me so well, and loves me anyway.  I forget everything when I'm with him.  After three and a half years of marriage, I'm still giddy around him.

Paisley and Paxton

A week and a half ago I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing two of my favorite "kids."  I babysat Paisley and Paxton years ago, and now they are all grown up...and I am starting to feel old. (:  I had even more fun with them this time!  It is so cool to see a brother and sister who are so close.  They seem to adore each other.  Paisley has become such a beautiful lady!  She's smart too, and planning on going into Journalism.  A girl after my own heart!  And Paxton has a musical gift.  He plays the guitar wonderfully!  I loved hearing him play throughout our shoot.  Thanks guys for letting me drag you around Norman for these photos!!
